...before hiding under the cork tree
This is a story of two carefree kids whose passion for punk rock united them one evening and for an eternity. It was the fall of 2003, she lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico her soon to be companion 500 miles away in Boulder, Colorado. Their first encounter was an AIM conversation when they discovered, after living 20 years in different states, that they were scheduled to be in the same place at the same time. She explained to him that she’d be in Colorado for a punk rock show soon and the band she was traveling six hours to see was Fall Out Boy. Imagine their surprise when he realized he was going to be at that same show. They exchanged a few IM’s and looked forward to meeting each other in the coming weeks.
A whirlwind romance ensued. Against the odds and advice of friends the couple changed their lives to be together. In February 2005 he asked for her hand in marriage. Shortly after the proposal the two attended another Fall Out Boy show. There they had the privilege of speaking with the members of the band. The couple excitedly explained to the band that if it hadn’t been for their show in the fall of 2003 the lovebirds may never have known each other. With that said the couple invited Fall Out Boy to the wedding. The band congratulated the couple and accepted their invitation.
That was over a year ago and before the band released their newest album From Under the Cork Tree. After the release of that CD the band’s fame exploded. They went from “who is Fall Out Boy?” to number one on TRL, appearances on Mtv and even a Grammy nomination. The couple became discouraged when they emailed the band regarding the wedding and received no response. The realization that the Fall Out Boy that was no longer exists began to settle in.
This website is the last hope of a love struck couple trying to make their wedding as memorable as their meeting.

Dominic Filosa is an aspiring architect and designer. With not much more than an architectural degree and a few lessons from the school of hard knocks Dominic makes the best of every moment. His days are spent interning with a local architecture firm and counting the seconds until he can be with his love again.
After dropping her life to move to Colorado Nicole Ruiz spent over a year trying to find her place outside of Dominic's arms. She has found where that is and is returning to school this year to become an Elementary School Teacher. Her joys in life are Dominic, Photography and Socks.
